Directions

Opening: Skit in a building includes some tzevet "turning into zombies" and running away, rest of tzevet freaking out and asking the chanichim to help them out. Instructions: give in small chunks 1 - Chanichim broken up into three kvutzot (have them come to dinner dressed this way). They need to find puzzle pieces scattered over the migrash/beitanim/area (depending on location) and bring them to the mirpeset of the Chadar Ochel/other determined location to their "scientists." 2 - Each team has two scientists who will be trying to complete the puzzle as they get pieces for a cure and are always "safe." The mirpeset/area the scientists are in is a safe zone for everyone. No zombies allowed. 3 - While looking for the pieces, the tzevet who are zombies (and any chanichim who become turned) will be trying to tag the living in order to turn them into zombies. Zombies must "zombie-walk" (grunt a lot and can only walk with arms out, no running). To recognize turning from a living person into a zombie, we originally used glowsticks (green = human, red = zombie). Any sort of visible light/token could work to signify this change. Closing: The game continues until the puzzle is completed (don't let everyone become a zombie). What the scientists for each time don't know and will have to figure out is that none of their puzzles can be completed on their own. They'll need to combine their puzzles and pieces in order to create a full antidote. The antidote is a large image that says "Bikur Cholim/Visiting the Sick" on it. The tzevet who are human will go and "visit" (high-five) the tzevet who were zombies who will go become human again, and then chanichim can all high-five each other for the cure.

Helpful Tips

This was done with Notzitzim 2014. It was a blast. It's going to be chaotic. Tzevet distribution is very important with who is with the scientists, who's a zombie, and who's captaining one of the three teams. Additional tzevet should spread out to "referee"/keep chanichim safe and intervene as needed (ex. someone may need to go to the marp if they slip and fall while running away). Zombie tzevet shouldn't target human tzevet/make sure there are always some human tzevet to rally the troops. When we did this, very quickly it became almost all zombies, so we also "found" some short-term cures to get more humans until all the puzzle pieces could be gathered. For younger chanichim, let the scientists know early on that their pieces may connect to other teams' and not just their own.
