Instructions:

  • Begin by asking campers:

    • What does kindness mean to you?

    • What does kindness at camp look like?

    • What does it take to be a kind person?

  • Display words or reminders of kindness around camp to promote awareness.

  • Optionally, share quotes about kindness for inspiration, such as:

    • “With regard to the Torah, its beginning is an act of kindness, and its end is an act of kindness.” – Talmud

    • “Acts of kindness never die. They linger in the memory, giving life to other acts in return.” – Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks

    • “The world is based on three things – on the Torah, on the service of God, and upon acts of lovingkindness.” – Pirkei Avot 1:2

  • Have campers create artwork about kindness. Display their work in shared camp spaces (e.g., dining hall, cabins, activity areas) or allow them to take it home.

Group Reflection Questions:

  • Which acts of kindness have you noticed at camp recently?

  • How can we encourage others to be kind?

  • How do small acts of kindness make a big difference?
